STARTING AT TRENANCE CHILDCARE
Try to ensure your child gets plenty of sleep and a good breakfast each day.
Children will often be involved in ‘messy play’ and will also have regular access to the outdoor areas. Therefore please ensure they don’t wear best clothes and have appropriate clothing for the weather. Children should have a pair of named wellies and an outdoor coat at all times.
Coral class have an optional but promoted uniform which is a red sweatshirt and can be purchased from the office for £9 or any plain red sweatshirt from any uniform provider.
Please ensure all your child’s clothing and belongings are labelled including lunchboxes and spare clothes etc.
Children should always be dropped off via the Children’s Centre Reception. Collections at 12pm, 1pm, 3pm and 4pm should be made via the side gate. For collections from 5pm onwards, please press the doorbell located at the entrance to the childcare and a member of staff from the setting will then let you through. Please adhere to your session times for dropping off and collection, otherwise this can affect our staff ratios and may incur late collection fee.
If you are going to be unavoidably late, please let us know as soon as possible. This helps to alleviate unnecessary distress for your child.
If your child is absent for any reason, please telephone us to let us know (01637877099).
Children who are booked in between 12 and 1pm will need to have a packed lunch with them, alternatively hot dinners can be ordered for our toddler and pre-school children from Trenance Learning Academy via our office. They are priced at £1.50 per day and must be ordered one week in advance. Babies will need to have additional food items for snacks. All children in the Toddler and Pre-school rooms are provided with a nutritious snack by ourselves mid morning and afternoon.
Each child has an individual Learning Journey. This is a record of your child’s learning and development during their time at Trenance Childcare. A WOW sheet can be completed any time you would like us to know of an accomplishment or event in your child’s life that will contribute to their Learning Journey, e.g. taking their first steps, a holiday/trip, a family occasion.
Our ‘Parents as Partners’ encourages parents to work as partners with the Setting in your child’s learning and development. A ‘Weekly Focus Sheet’ will be posted on the Parent Information board’s and will include suggestions for discussions or activities with your child, in line with the focus in their class for that week. A sticker with this information will be placed in your child’s blue book.
You will be kept informed of events, trips, health alerts, changes at the setting etc. by means of the Parent Information Board, posters and letters or flyers. We also issue a Newsletter to all parents/carers half-termly and our website is regularly updated with current news and events (www.trenancechildcare.co.uk). From time to time we issue parents with questionnaires in order to gain some feedback and seek ways we can continually improve.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS AT ANY TIME, PLEASE ASK!
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ARE A COMMITTEE LED SETTING AND RELY ON THE INVOLVEMENT OF OUR PARENTS/CARERS. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE INVOLVED IN HELPING THE SETTING IN ANYWAY, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
